ARTIST BIO

Born in Singapore, Redha Nurrita is an aspiring artist and a first year student at LASALLE College of the Arts, pursuing a degree in Arts Management.

Most of Redha's works are inspired by nature and the surrounding elements in it like the different seasons. She specialises in drawing and painting, mostly creating abstract works to step out of her comfort zone and improve herself.

Recently, Redha's work is focusing more on her mental health as she describes her experience through the canvas. She is also experimenting with creating digital illustrations in her free time.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My creative work includes drawing and painting and the mediums I often dabble with are watercolour, acrylics and markers. Majority of my works are inspired by nature for example 'Autumn' and 'Winter' which I created using watercolour in different shades. I find myself more fond of creating abstract work nowadays like how I created 'Autumn' where I splashed watercolour on the canvas and let it flow freely as I am not able to control the movements on the canvas.

I know a piece is done when I feel satisfied with it and do not feel the need to continue adding on to the canvas. When my work is going well, I am filled with a sense of contentment and become pleased with myself. When people view my works, I would like them to think of the meaning behind the artwork and the message I am trying to convey or just simply appreciate it at its raw form.
